What makes Korean spicy chicken different from other types of spicy chicken?

Before we go into the recipe, it is important to understand a bit about the different types of spicy chicken. Spicy chicken has become somewhat of a joke. People say that it is “just” spicy. However, when you taste the different types you will realise that this is not true.

There are different types of spicy chicken. There is regular spicy chicken and then there are spicy chicken which are spicy because of the ingredients used.

The difference between spicy chicken which is spicy because of the ingredients and spicy Korean chicken is down to the sauce. The sauce which is used to make Korean spicy chicken is thicker and is made with chilli peppers, vinegar and onions. It is the perfect mix of spicy and sweet and is the reason why it is one of the favorites of a lot of people around the world.

This is a question a lot of people ask. A healthy person can handle a lot of spice. If you are someone who is not used to spicy food, then Korean spicy chicken is probably something you are not going to like.

If you are someone who has tried Korean spicy chicken and liked it then there is no reason why you would not be able to eat Korean spicy chicken again.

The Flavour

The flavour of this spicy chicken was so bold that there were times where I wasn’t sure if it was real. It was certainly something I had not tried before. The spicy flavours mixed with the freshness of the onions was incredible.

The Ingredients

The spicy chicken consisted of large chunks of chicken which were marinated in a variety of spices, sweet seasoning and juice. The chicken itself was so tender that it almost melted in my mouth. The spicy seasoning was nicely balanced and worked well with the juices from the chicken.

Chicken Clinic Price

The price for this dish was $18 which was very reasonable. Admittedly, this was the most expensive item on the menu. However, that was to be expected.

Chicken Clinic Service

The service was quick and efficient. The staff were friendly. When we had requested some high chairs, they seemed more than happy to accommodate us. We were seated relatively quickly.

The food arrived within 15 minutes. It was well presented. We thought that the rice was a touch oily but everything else was great.

Chicken Clinic Wait Staff

There was one waitress serving the restaurant. She was friendly and efficient. However, she did make several mistakes with our order. She thought we were taking an order for 2 people when in fact we were ordering for 4. She gave us our bill twice. She also put a spicy sauce that we did not want onto our the bill.

Overall

To me, Chicken Clinic restaurant is a must visit. The flavour is amazing. The ingredients are fresh and the chicken is tender and juicy. The food is good value for money and the drinks were reasonably priced. The staff are friendly and polite. The venue is clean.
